Samples for Sympathy Notes

Composing sympathy notes is not difficult as it may seem to be. All you need to do is get your message across with sincerity and your earnest thoughts.

Needless to say, events of mourning present limited grounds to cover, where you have to express your concerns in the most appropriate way. Probably, the best way out is to keep the message simple and short, without making it sound louder or flowery.
But at the same time, it must mirror your sincere thoughts. All you have to let the agonizing person know is that your thoughts are with him/her and that you do care for the loss. There are some sympathy note samples which may help you reach out to the bereaved and extend comfort.

Sample Sympathy Messages

An appropriate way to add more to the meaning of your message, is by including sympathy quotes. The following samples can be used as the closing lines.

Sample #1

"Oh heart, if one should say to you that the soul perishes like the body, answer that the flower withers, but the seed remains." - Kahlil Gibran

Dear Tim, Ben and Family,
All I want to say is,
Please accept my condolences on your deep loss
I know how much Uncle Roy meant for you all
Know that you are always in my thoughts and prayers.

Sample #2

"Say not in grief 'he is no more' but live in thankfulness that he was." - Hebrew proverb

Dear Amily,
John was a true gem
He was always by my side
He was the greatest friend I ever had
Your grief is greater than mine
But know that my grief on losing such a friend
Is no less than anyone else
His memories will always be a part of my life.

Love, John Madison

Sample #3

"God is growing bitter, He envies man his mortality." - Jacques Rigaut, Pensées

Dear Natalia,
With such a tender age of yours
I know how it is to endure such a deep loss
But know that Barry will always be there
Beside you and your family as a blessing.
May God give you the courage to go through this phase.

Love, Uncle Sam

Sample #4

"Death is no more than passing from one room into another. But there's a difference for me, you know. Because in that other room I shall be able to see." - Helen Keller

Dear Rod,
Harry was a very kind and noble soul
For this reason, God has called for him
Only to reward him for his noble deeds in his life
Just know you are loved and supported by many.

Barry

Sample #5

"Death never takes the wise man by surprise; He is always ready to go." - Jean de La Fontaine

Dear Sue and Julie,
It is difficult for me to feel the pain
That you are having in your heart
At the loss of your mother.
But know that I am feeling a part of it.
Diana will be sorely missed by all of us.

Love, Aunt Emy

Sample #6

Dear Faith,
Words are not enough to describe Harry
A soul so pure and noble
The man did not know the word "No"
When it came to help someone in need
He can never be replaced
Our thoughts and prayers are always with you and your family.

Love, Morgan Family
To conclude, writing sympathy notes/messages, as it has been mentioned, must not necessarily have the inclusion of sympathy sayings or quotes. Such quotes only help unfold your feelings and thoughts. And always remember, thoughts which are genuine and earnestly sincere, are not dependent on words.
