A possessive pronoun is a type of pronoun that denotes ownership. This story teaches you how to use them in sentences as well as lists possessive pronouns in French, Spanish, and Italian.

Quick Tip!

When a personal pronoun shows ownership, it has two forms: possessive adjectives and possessive pronouns, the difference between which can be hard to know. So, here's a quick tip: a possessive adjective is followed by the noun that it modifies, whereas the possessive pronoun stands alone.
A pronoun is a part of speech that is used to replace a noun. Common pronouns include he, her, him, I, it, me, she, them, they, us, we, etc. They can be classified into various types such as personal, reflexive, reciprocal, demonstrative, indefinite, relative, interrogative, intensive, and possessive pronouns.
Possessive pronouns are those which are used to show ownership. For example, mine, ours, theirs, etc. Let us learn the various possessive pronouns in English as well as other languages.
